A few miles further, you´ll find Cape Rosier with Holbrook Island Sanctuary. This is a great place for hiking. Marked trails guide you to an unspoiled nature with lily ponds and beaver dams. The surrounding beaches, overlooking Castine Harbor, invite you to a seaside picnic or to enjoy the sunset over Camden Hills. Another suggestion for a day trip, which can be done on foot or by bicycle: Make an early start to Stonington (15 miles) and take the ferry to Isle auHaut, part of Acadia National Park. Conclude the day with a rustic island lobster dinner and be sure it will be unforgettable. |
